Creative Genius: Tinker Hatfield

Tinker Hatfield, a trained architect from the University of Oregon, began working with Nike back in 1981. His original work was designing stores and offices. But, around 1987 he was offered the chance to help design a new running shoe. His competitive spirit, creativity, ability to problem solve and work with other people, as well as his awareness of cultures all over the world all helped fire Hatfield's inspiration.

He has then gone on to create some of the most renowned sneakers of all time:

Air Max 1
"Bo Jackson" Air Trainer

Air Jordan III (Jordan's all-time favorite shoe)
"The Holy Grail of Sneakers"

Air Jordan V

Air Jordan VI

Air Jordan VIII

Air Jordan XI

Air Jordan XIII

Air Jordan XX

Here is a Tinker Hatfield interview explaining where he found inspiration for his first shoe design, the Air Max 1. Centre Georges Pompidou.
